The Town of Milton is a suburban community located just South of Boston (it abuts Dorchester) with a population of roughly 27,000 residents. Milton is unique in the Greater Boston area for the amount of green space it maintains through private and public conservation efforts. Milton placed in the top 10 of Money magazine’s “Best Places to Live” during 2007, 2009, 2011, and makes the list each year.
Milton celebrated its’ 350th anniversary during 2012. It is home to the prestigious Milton Academy, Fontbonne Academy, and Curry College. Downtown Milton is in the process of revitalization to attract planned growth. Residents enjoy the many bicycle trails throughout the area and take pride in their well-maintained parks.
Milton public schools enjoy an excellent reputation. The elementary schools are famous for the French immersion program that has young students fluent in the language by the 3rd grade. Milton continually invests in upgrading school facilities.
Residents who commute to Boston can use the MBTA’s Red Line and bus services.
